Why I read the Bible

Hi guys, today we are going to talk about something interesting. – The Bible

So I am doing this thing were I am reading it in its entirety this year and I thought why don’t we talk about this BOOK today.

So what is the Bible? Someone said the best way to know what a thing is, is to know what it is not. The Bible is not a book for Christians, It is not myths and Fables. The Bible is God’s word. Thankfully God did not leave the Human race without a guide on how to live on planet earth. Anything that claims to be God’s word apart from the Bible is a lie. The bible was written over the span of 1500 years by 40 different people from different generations. These people were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Related imageI strongly believe the role of the study of God’s word has been underestimated. The Bible is not to be studied only. It is to be meditated upon! Of what use is it to only read without understanding? Meditating helps you to understand and apply. For example: if you look at first Corinthians 13. You can see what love is and ask your self questions like: Am I patient? Am I kind? If the answer is in the negative then you will know that these are flaws to be worked on.

The Bible gives wisdom on how to live on the planet and gives instruction for the broader picture – eternity. For example: The God through the Bible instructs us to live at peace with all men so that we can have peace of mind while teaching us that we can only attain peace with God through Jesus Christ.

“You can read the Bible, and should, but until you study it, it doesn’t come alive for you and teach you a lasting lesson.
Take time.
Study God’s Word.
It will change you.”
