Why christianity is not about religion.

First of all, if you don’t believe that Jesus is God’s son and that Hell is a real place,you are in lots of trouble.

Why?

Because you are taking how and where you’ll end for granted. Forget the money, success and prosperity. All those are good. However if you do not know the Lord Jesus as your lord and savior, hell ( the place) is where you will end up.

Jesus loves you so much and has paid the price for you to be saved from it.

That being said, Christianity is not a religion or about being religious

Wipe that sarcastic expression off your face. It really isn’t a religion.

At least, Jesus the originator of the faith, did not intend for it to be a religion.

He rather intended for it to be a way of life.

Okay, see He asked peter who the disciples thought Him to be?

⁶ Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”¹⁷ Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. ¹⁸ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church (ekklēsía) and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:16-18 (NKJV)

So keeping in mind that the lord never spoke English during His time in the flesh, He used the word Ekklesia in Greek which means a calling out.

Strong’s concordance puts it like this

“ekklēsía(from /ek, “out from and to” and  /kaléō, “to call”) – properly, people called out from the world and to God”.

So basically the Lord told peter that on Peter’s knowledge of Him being the son of God, His (Jesus’s) organization, His church would be built.

So you see, there is really nothing religious about the church or Jesus’s organization.

Basically, being a christian means that you have been called out from the world, into His light so you can bring other people(rich,poor,old,young,female,male) into the light.

Remember, 1 peter 2 :9

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (NKJV)

Therefore, drop the traditions carried over from the world and focus on proclaiming His praises so that the world might know his love, grace and salvation.

Remember it’s not just about now. it’s also about the end (of the you,humanity,the planet……)

that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, ⁸ whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, ⁹ receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.1 peter 1:7-9 (NKJV)

Jesus is interested in you.

He loves you.
