For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
What can separate you from God? On His part, nothing! On God’s part, you are loved, chosen and forgiven according to the book of Ephesians (Ephesians 1:3-14) but on your part, what would stop you from following Jesus? I hope your answer would be nothing!
Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Matthew 13:3-8
The parable of the sower in Matthew 13:3-8 talks about different hearts and their responses to God. How deep is your relationship with God, how much faith have you built in His word. If you haven’t allowed yourself get rooted in Him, this would be the time. Are you the type of christian that would sleep with that brother just so that he can marry you? Will you turn to fraud and deceit to make ends meet?
2020 is a new year and lots of people have the illusion that there would be no battles and all would be perfect. I don’t mean to be a prophet of doom but I dare say that it won’t all be perfect. There would be battles to fight and truthfully sometimes it might feel like God is far. Thank God we do not walk by feelings because God is always near. He is closer to us than our own skins.
So in this new year, as we waddle through the waters of life. I invite you hold fast to God. Hold on to His promises. Know that He won’t leave you. He would NEVER forsake you and when the going gets tough remind your heart to be the good ground. Stay grounded in His word and victory would indeed be assured.
You are loved❤️
