When life isn’t going as planned

David was in a difficult position because the troops talked about stoning him, for they were all very bitter over the loss of their sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. -1 Samuel 30:6
I recently heard Priscilla Shirer say a person is either in trial, out of a trial on the way into one.
Jesus Christ said
“You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” (John16:33b)
So what happens when things do not work out as planned for you? Do you begin to ask questions like “why me”? … If not you, who else?
Do you let satan flood your heart with discouraging thoughts and feelings of being abandoned by God or do you strengthen yourself in the Lord and continue pushing?
See, you probably haven’t been in the same situation like David in having to spend 13 years running from someone trying to kill you. You most likely have never had a nail driven through your palm like Jesus or his disciples and you presumably haven’t been thrown into boiling oil.
So what is with the “o poor me” attitude ? 
Some of us begin to pity ourselves and inadvertently slide into depression. This is not the way to go!
God has called us to Trust and Rejoice in Him always.
Favour, it is easy to say.
I know! However, if you keep claiming to trust while at the same time complaining, then the ride is definitely going to be painful and stressful.
The better way is to:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! – Philippians 4:4
Trust in Jesus as you rejoice when things aren’t going as planned because although you are not where you hoped you’d be, you are heading in the direction which the Father intends.
Moreover, you are going to stand before the Creator in the not too distant future. Are you ready?
You need Jesus my friend. Jesus loves you and is expectantly waiting to enter into a relationship with you. Life is easier with Him in it.
