This may be why you are failing

They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed- Psalm 34:5

The Christian wasn’t called to just say the sinner’s prayer and continue life as usual. Usually there is an intense love for Jesus that overcomes you when you first receive the life of Jesus. This means that you are automatically able to fix your heart on the Lord. However, over time the cares of this world can cause a distraction and you can begin to drift, inadvertently causing your eyes to shift from the Lord.

No wonder scriptures tell us to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;  for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure”- Phillipians 2:12b-13

How do we keep God at the Center of our lives, by fixing our minds on Him. By putting His word in your heart. Keeping a scripture on your mind. You can write it out. I personally like to put it as a note on my phone, where I often look at it. Although worship music is important, and the Holy Spirit has woken me up many times with a song on my heart, it is better to have a word based song or the word it self that you are constantly looking at.

King David said “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” -Psalm 119: 11

If you are struggling with a vice and you’ve been to several deliverance sessions, put God’s word in your heart, speak it to yourself this is also called meditation. I have been delivered from anxiety by this. It will keep you from temptation. Jesus resisted the tempter by the word. We are called to follow in His footsteps and I dare mention today that just because you are tempted, doesn’t mean you’ve sinned. Even our Lord was tempted but He stood on the word.

People fail because they remove their gaze from Him their minds. Even if you are struggling with unbelief, anxiety, lust or any other issue. Just keep pushing and keep looking at Him.Jesus still saves by His word
