Next Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test. The Devil was ready to give it. Jesus prepared for the Test by fasting forty days and forty nights. That left him, of course, in a state of extreme hunger, which the Devil took advantage of in the first test: “Since you are God’s Son, speak the word that will turn these stones into loaves of bread.” – Matthew 4: 1-3 (MSG)
So let me give a little background before Matthew chap 4. Jesus had just been baptized and God had just confirmed Him to be His beloved Son. Now, I don’t know about you but it seemed a little odd when I first studied this chapter, that God would lead Jesus (His beloved son) to the wilderness after confirming Him. No?
Well that’s exactly what happened. Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tested. He was led by the Holy Spirit and guess what? It was God’s will for Jesus to go through that season.
Let’s come back to you, Are you a child of God and have been in a terrible place for 2, 5 or even 10 years and it feels like you are stuck? Keep trusting God. God knows what He is doing and has fantastic plans. Obviously, it might not feel like that at times (maybe most times) but you cannot afford to slip into a pit of complaints. It will just keep making you sad. You should however, thank God for the good things that happen.
Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Philippians 4:4 (MSG)
Paul wrote the above sentence, when He was in prison under terrible conditions. I am almost sure your situation is not as bad.
I mean, your life cannot be altogether bad. You are alive and that’s something to be thankful for.
Jesus was in the wilderness for forty days, He emerged from that place and went on to become the greatest man who ever lived .
Enjoy the season, focus on what God is doing instead of what He hasn’t done and you will be happy.
You are loved and highly longed for.
Favour 🙂
