Remember, it is still not about you!

“It is not about you” Rita’s words hit me like a thunderbolt and I began to apologise to God almost immediately.  I had thought that the opportunity to sing in the choir at church was to develop my gift and compete with other choir members.

But really, who cares where the glory to God comes from?

God can decide to use vessel A today and B tomorrow. He just wants you to be available!

I forgot that it is about Jesus and became jealous of someone who I thought sang better. Obviously, this made me sad. Something that could have been avoided if I HAD JUST REMEMBERED THAT IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS

THE LESSON

It is easy to forget that life is not about your or your problems.

It is about showing forth the light of Jesus to the world in that situation.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled on by men.14 “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket,[a] but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine[b] before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.  Mathew 5:13-16
