Nothing But A Pencil.

So I was reading the Left Behind series by Tim Lahaye and  part of the book had the theme of “doing what is best for you as an individual or what God thinks is best”.

I find  it is very interesting because the basis for taking personal decisions in this world is generally the individual and his/her feelings. So for example questions like ” Does it make me happy?” or “Is it best for me” ? “How do I feel about this?” determines the next step.

This type of thinking makes me wonder the place of the Maker in a person’s life-Oh there is a maker..You know it!

If  growing up, you saw the Nigerian Television series – Super Story, you’d notice that at the end of the program always came the sentence “ we are nothing but pencils in the hand of the creator”.

See, it is not your story, it is His story. You are nothing but a pencil in His hand. He is the director of this script –LIFE!

It is not about what you think or what you feel. It is about what He says and how He leads.

So who is He? huh?

Well, He is the creator of this planet, this universe and all that is in it. Your creator! whether you belive it or not does not change a thing. He is who He is!

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
² He was with God in the beginning.
³ All things were created through Him,
and apart from Him not one thing was created
that has been created ; John 1:1-3

When you die, which is not very far from now. You will have to face Him and get the rewards or punishment for your actions on this planet. ARE YOU LIVING FOR HIM OR FOR YOURSELF?

The only way to get to live for Him is to get into a relationship with Him. Then you stop thinking about yourself and focus on what makes Him happy. You did not give yourself breath so be the “machine” (for lack of a better word) with a will  that the Creator and Designer created you to be

It should not be about what makes you happy . It should be what pleases Jesus;  who is God.

You do not own your life, do not be disillusioned. You are nothing but a pencil! Just a pencil in the hand of the creator!

Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver bowls, but also those of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. ²¹ So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable, he will be a special  instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart ; 2 Tim 2:20-22

He loves you and wants a relationship with you.

Today is the day to make the choice.
