Love ; the superior way

If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2 HCSB

-Gifts do not define us, love defines us. If I have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit and I am constantly busy for the wrong reasons and with the wrong motives then I will be nothing before God. We should be defined as people of love. Not of works or of miracles but of love. Works and miracles have their places but love endures forever. (1 corinthians 13:13). Our Father is love. Love is not a feeling. Feelings have nothing to do with love. We messed up and God was probably not feeling anything but the Bible said Christ died for us while we were still sinners. I wonder how we treat our spouses when we are annoyed with them.

And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:3 HCSB

The verse talks about profit and loss. Good deeds done without love is simply a waste of time and will attract no reward. A person without love is a loser. We gain nothing without love. So what is your motive? Love is the superior way to live on this earth. People will see our good works and glorify our father in heaven by how we love them. Let’s endeavour by the Spirit of God, to walk in love. Jesus loves you,go and love others.
