Let’s talk about ‘Alone Time’

Hello lovelies,

It’s February already. Happy New month!

If you are Nigerian and grew up in the church, you probably think I am talking about your personal devotion AKA “Alone time with God”.

“Alone time with God” is important for growth in your relationship with Jesus, however, today, let’s look at alone time with yourself. (For the people who enjoy being alone AKA Introverts).

In order words, if like me, you relish time alone with yourself, then this is for you.

“Time is Money”, I recently remembered one of my closest friends used this phrase a lot for a season, then I  saw something on Instagram about destructive and constructive “Alone Time” and I thought it would be interesting to share my thoughts.

Of course the famous Ecclesiastes 3 talks about the fact that there is a time for everything. That is why I believe that “Alone Time” should be used wisely.

Personally, I found that is very easy for me to laze around and sleep instead of doing constructive things that would add value to my life.

Hold your horses, I am not saying sleep is bad, but then again Proverbs 20:13 tells us “Do not love sleep or you’ll become poor, keep your eyes open and you’ll have plenty of food”.

Also in apostle Paul’s words, 1 Corinthians 6:12 – All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

So sleep is good obviously, but don’t be brought under it’s power basically, as we have seen in the scripture above.

In my experience, being by myself is generally very helpful and I get frustrated if I don’t spend time alone after a while of being around people. Nontheless, it’s easy to deviate and waste the time.

So the question today is t ‘what’s your “Alone Time” like’?

Destructive? Or Constructive?

Do you feel guilty after you’ve spent time with yourself? Watching movies the whole day or scheming wicked and evil thoughts the whole time?

Or

Do you feel blessed after being alone, planning for the future, reading books, working towards being a better person?

Psalms 90:12 – So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.

I haven’t lived very long on this planet but I have lived enough to know that Time is very short and should be managed efficiently for good outcomes. However, we won’t live forever.

That is why thinking of your forever is also very IMPORTANT!

Heaven is VERY REAL! Hell is also VERY REAL!

Jesus came so that you would have a choice between the two realities and make the right one.

Jesus loves you like crazy!

He wants to be part of your experience in this life and in “FOREVER”.

Choose Him, You use time wisely!

You are loved,

Favour
