Let it shine!

Apparently, some ladies are calling themselves ‘BITCHES’ these days. I recently had a conversation with a colleague and she was like ‘  oh yeah, I am a bitch’  and BITCH according to her means, ‘Babes in total control here’. where?, don’t ask me.

Although I cannot remember the conversation leading to that, it just struck me that a lady who professes to be a christian called her self a ‘Bitch’. Like seriously?

See,the dictionary meanings of a bitch include:

1. A female canine animal especially a dog.

2.A woman considered to be mean, overbearing or contemptible.

3. A prostitute in relation to a pimp.

Now, looking at the above definitions of the word ‘BITCH’, it is safe to say that the word is derogatory and condescending in every way.

What the heck happened to self respect? The elders say you carry yourself the way you want to be carried.  Now I am not saying I am perfect or the epitome of self respect but then, God’s grace is sufficient  and available for me and you, all you need to do is to tap into that grace by filling your heart with the word.

The bible says in Psalm 119 verse 11 says ” I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you”

Fill your heart with God’s word and see yourself grow.

In addition,

Proverbs 31:30 tells us that

“Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the lord is to be praised”.(NIV)

According to the above scripture, we should basically fear God and because we fear God, he will help us understand that we are precious to him and with the Holy spirit leading us, we would respect ourselves and carry ourselves with dignity. Proverbs 9:10 ” The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom,and the knowledge of the Holy one is understanding” (NIV)

Remember you are Peculiar and you cannot afford to think and behave like everybody else.

Jesus also reminds us in Matthew 5:16

”Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven”.(KJV)

You are a woman of God,the light and salt of the earth,your light needs to start shining .
