Hope 2

Romans 15:13
(New King James Version)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

So yesterday, we talked about how some siblings experience depression, anxiety and other emotional or mental issues. When it is the will of God for us to abound or be overflowing with HOPE. As you depend on the Holy Spirit to have joy and peace in trusting God, you will always have hope for the future but the enemy in his character tries to steal that away from us in order to keep us from fulfilling our Father’s will on the earth

In my experience with anxiety, it started from my thoughts. This is why we must guard our thoughts like a soldier guards money. Your thoughts are where your life starts from (Proverbs 4:23). If you think depressing thoughts, you will be depressed, if you think hopeless thoughts you will feel hopeless and lose your joy and peace. You might not be possesed, you might just need to change your thoughts.

In my case, I had a baby and started letting thoughts of guilt and condemnation from the times I strayed hunt me. My thoughts just kept going down the hill. This led to anxiety that I could even feel in my body. Some people will say it is postpartum problems but where is it in the Bible? Dear child of God, those things are activities of demons and we keep suger coating them with nice English words. If it is not part of God’s promise to us, it shouldn’t be happening.

Anyway, the enemy was having a field day with my mind and I did not even realize it. When God opened my eyes to see what was happening, I cried out to Him. He has since led me on a journey of examining my thoughts, teaching my hands to war and my fingers to battle. I haven’t had another episode of anxiety or issue with mental health.

When it seems like the enemy wants to try again, I speak the Word in prayer. The Holy Spirit our helper is also always on standby to strengthen and encourage. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God work. Oh what joy and peace we would have if only we believed that God’s word powered by His Spirit works.

It is in joy and peace that we will find hope. These spiritual blessings cannot be found outside Jesus. Are you struggling in any area of your life today? Look to Jesus my friend. He is the only answer to that matter.

Read your Bible, depend on the Holy Spirit and pray. Let the word get into your heart. May we not enter into life’s battle without our weapons of warfare in Jesus name. Amen.

You are loved.
