Have you read it today?

Before you start thinking, ‘Favour I don’t even have time’, we are talking about reading the Bible and not necessarily studying it.

So have you read it today? I find it interesting that we all want to win in life but are unwilling to pay the price. Yes, God is with us and will never leave us but have you trained yourself to know His word. The Holy Spirit is to guide us into all truth (John 14:26) but how is He supposed to do that if you have refused to put His word in your heart. God is not a magician! We are to work with Him and our work with the Lord is a partnership. In other words, You do your part and He does His.

Apostle James through the Holy Spirit tells us in James 2:26 that faith without works is dead. Therefore, you cannot say ‘I trust God’ while you refuse to arm yourself with His word.

Besides arming yourself with His word against difficult days and seasons. You need His word to keep you from falling. The scripture tells us that ‘Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall‘ (1 Corinthians 10:12). No wonder King David wrote in Psalm 119:11 ‘Your word I have hidden in my heart,That I might not sin against You‘.

Hiding God’s word in your heart by just reading consistently will not only keep you from sin, it will also keep you from being afraid of what usually scares people. When you read His word, you see Jesus, His promises and His faithfulness. God’s word is truly a guide for living on this planet. Stop making excuses not to read it, ignoring it and running helter-skelter.

What better way exist to use a new item than to start by reading the manual? God has given us an advantage for living. Please use it.
