To be like Jesus is our destiny and one of the things that has been highlighted was Jesus’s ability to communicate truth laced with grace while He was in his physical body.
It is easy to tell what is wrong but how about instead of coming off as judgemental, we speak the truth in love and mercy.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth-John 1:14
We are to live for His glory and one of the ways to do this is to be full of grace and truth like He was. Most of us are full of ‘truth’ but where is the grace? Where is the mercy? We are so harsh and judgemental towards one another, it is almost like we are waiting for one another’s downfall. Are we not ONE body? Whether it’s the church in China, United kingdom or in Nigeria are we not siblings of the same Father?
Blessed are the merciful,For they shall obtain mercy-Matthew 5:7
Also, many times we are so harsh with our judgements and even judge unbelievers based on Biblical standards when they are not even subject to those standards. (The unbeliever is dead and cannot live by the Spirit). We judge others whilst we forget to judge ourselves.
When we forget we have been saved by grace through faith, it is so easy to judge people forgetting that the mercy of God is the only thing keeping you from falling.
This is not a post to deter you from speaking the truth. By all means please speak the truth but please speak it to yourself and your brother or sister in the body, with the motive of love and be kind while you do it.
Ultimately, it is the Holy Spirit that transforms a heart and not just words. Judge yourself and speak the truth in love.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one-Colossians 4:6
You are loved.
