Follow the light

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men-John 1 :4

The other day I was walking in pitch blackness in the corridor between my bedroom and kitchen . The only thing that helped me get to my bedroom from the kitchen was a very tiny ray of light from the bedroom.

I was holding my 3 month old and was walking carefully in the darkness but as soon as I saw that flicker of light I walked confidently to the room. Isn’t life sometimes like that?

Sometimes it feels like we are in a dark hole with no possibility of escape. However, if we can only see the light, everything will be okay. What if I told that there’s always light in that dark place? What if I told you you’ve just been looking at the wrong place?

The Bible tells us that “Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;no shadow of shame will darken their faces” – Psalm 34:5. It also says that “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 corinthians 10:13)

So basically, find Jesus and you will be fine. Look at Jesus and you’ll find that flicker of light out of the dark hole. He’s there with you, He never left. Look at Him. He loves you and won’t ever leave you. Fix your eyes on Him and you’ll walk confidently till you climb out.
