Enjoy long lasting “Happiness”

We live in an age where the  media teaches you to be happy at all costs but I am sorry to burst your bubble, satisfaction doesn’t really come from making yourself happy.

In fact happiness is overrated, joy on the other hand is what you should be pursuing. Now who gives this Joy? JESUS!

So you are probably thinking, Favour what’s the difference between happiness and joy?

Well even though they seem similar in some way, happiness is usually short-lived and has to do with some event. For example, I can be happy because I just got a sports car.

While Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness that doesn’t necessarily have to do with any special event.

Joy can be given to you freely. You don’t have to live your life sad and depressed. You don’t have to make people sad to be happy.

Really you don’t! The thing is most times your actions don’t always affect just you, they usually affect the people who care about you too.

You don’t have to engage your self in demeaning and “self-esteem reducing” activities to be joyful.The alcohol, drugs and porno can stop now.

Because;

“for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength“. Nehemiah 8:10b (NKJV)

Money will not make you full of Joy either. However, Receiving Jesus into your life brings you all the Joy you would ever need.

Now, I am not saying that things would always be perfect but hey, it would definitely be a lot better than what you currently are experiencing.

The lord Jesus is asking you to receive Him because

^” For My (Jesus) yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:30 (NKJV)

If you would receive Jesus today, allow Him to live in your heart and show you His love,Then this would be your song.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him”. Psalm 28:7 (NJKV)

You won’t need to do “funny things”  any more to make yourself “Happy”

Because the Joy of the lord through the Holy Spirit  would strengthen you.
