Child of God

So many times, we use the term “Child of God” loosely without thinking of the implication…

Who is a child of God?

A child of God has received the life of Jesus, believes that Jesus is alive and is God.

Basically someone who is a child of God knows this truth as the individual knows his/her name.

The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children: Rom 8:16

The child of God goes boldly to God’s throne without fear of having committed any sin.

“Well Favour, don’t we all sin? For example by saying something untrue or being worried unnecessarily?”

Yes we do because we are in this flesh. But the child of God knows that God will always FORGIVE and FORGET as soon as repentance is done, because the blood of His son was shed for us.

He will again have compassion on us;
He will vanquish our iniquities.
You will cast all our^[a] sins
into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:19

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 john 1:9

The child of God is not on the fence of Faith.  Sweetheart, you are either on fire for Jesus or not. “But Favour, I don’t want to be labelled as spiricoco”

My dear, it is not about you and I am not saying you should write “I AM A CHRISTIAN” on your forehead. It is more about living life like Jesus.

but honor^[a] the Messiah^[b] as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason^[c] for the hope that is in you. 1 Peter 3:15

The child of God loves like the father, because God is love!

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death. – 1 John 3:14

Yes, some people just seem “unlovable” and it is something we have to keep growing in because you were unlovable when Jesus died.

 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! Romans 5:8 (HCSB)
