“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”
Psalms 23:3 NKJV
When I came to Europe five years ago, I wasted the first couple of weeks watching movies and Korean series. Although the Holy Spirit kept prompting me to use my time more wisely, it took a while to change because the attack on my mind was still manageable. Eventually, I stopped spending all my time on movies and turned to the Lord because the mental torment became unbearable.
Why am I sharing this story with you? Sometimes the Lord is calling our attention to certain areas of our lives, and instead of obeying quickly, we pursue our own desires until it almost seems too late. God is calling us to a season of quick obedience by His Spirit.
I know that people often think that in Africa, we pursue God because of our material needs, and it seems like when we leave Africa, we no longer need anything because the government provides. But dear friend, no government can provide for your soul. Only Jesus can. Only God can heal and nourish your soul, which is even more important than your body or spirit.
So, no matter where you are or the level of comfort you have, remember that Jesus loves you and wants to lead you. If you obey Him completely, you will prosper not just physically, but in your soul as well. Do not let it become a war before you obey.
You are loved and have been bought with a price.
Your sister,
