HomeBlogDear young minister,

Dear young minister,

Just because you are called doesn’t mean you are entitled to anything. David was already anointed by Samuel when he started working with Saul yet several times in 1 Samuel 18, it is stated that he conducted himself more wisely than all his colleagues in the Palace.

You are entitled to anything. You are not entitled to people calling you reverend, papa(mama), sir (ma). You are not entitled to people giving you gifts. We grow into these things. As one of my elders would say, the pudding is in the eating. Whether anyone calls you ma or sir, it doesn’t change the fact that you’ve been anointed by God. Some of us are so power drunk that we think that being called is a license to talk to people anyhow. It is not about power, respect or influence.
Being called by God is a call to servant hood!

It is serving Him and shining His light to humanity. It is not about you and the respect you get in the eyes of men. It is about the knowledge and life of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
When you grow, you won’t have to remind people to refer to you as sir or ma. You won’t have to force people to honour you. It will happen because your growth will demand it. Calm down and grow.
