The parachute

You are very fine,why are you serious with God like this?This is a paraphrase of a question I have been asked several times as if being a disciple of Jesus is exclusive to people who are “not so fine” whatever that means. I am a Christian because without Jesus, I’d be a liar, a cheat, a fornicator/adulterer, or a murderer. Jesus saved me from my self. I bet it is the exact same way for you. You might be thinking, “No Favour, I am a good person”, well as long as you do not fulfil the Commandments of God (Exodus 20,John 13:34) you are not a good person. The Creator who designed the creation knows what is good for it. An example would be, if you hate a person, you have committed murder in your heart because God judges the heart. Simply put, if you hate a person, you are a murderer. Yikes😶 .Basically, if you live outside God’s commandments, you are not good. You cannot be good without Jesus. This is why Jesus is the ONLY way to God. He was/is the only one that lived perfectly so that we could have access to God. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ because I needed to be saved from myself and He saved me completely! While I was unlovable, He loved me.(Romans 5:8) Why wouldn’t I want to devote my entire being to Him? I love my Jesus! Although I was raised in a pastor’s house, I didn’t receive the life of Jesus till I was 14 and since then, He has literally held my hand and has taken me one step after another through life. Why would I want to be living my life confused and without a direction? Of course it has not been easy but it is so worth it. I don’t have to suffer after I leave my body(or die), I will go to meet my Father and my God and live happily every after(Hebrews 9:27). See, the Lord Jesus Christ is like a parachute that you have to hold on to for your dear life. This life is like being on a flight trip where you can be pushed from the flight at any time. What do you do if you don’t have your parachute? You need Jesus Christ NOW! Receive His life
