Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out, and made His way to a deserted place. And He was praying there. Mark 1:35
From talking to several Christians, I have come to the conclusion that few people spend time with God in the secret place .
Most people rush out, depend on going to church or mumble something for two minutes every day and that’s it.
The excuse usually is I don’t have time!
But you cannot get to know God without spending time with Him. Like John Bevere says “it is not enough to have accepted Jesus into your life as your saviour, He needs to be Lord as well” and He becomes Lord as you spend time with Him.
It is not enough to sing “nearer my God to thee”
Being a Christian is hard work, you want to excel in your faith and relationship with God? Spend time with Jesus!
Want to be a better person? Spend time Jesus!
It is not enough to care for people and animals, c’mon you know what thoughts cross your mind.
The only way to deal with those is to spend time with Jesus.
How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping Your word.
10 I have sought You with all my heart;
don’t let me wander from Your commands.
11 I have treasured Your word in my heart
so that I may not sin against You – Psalm 119:9-11
You cannot say God does not answer prayers if you haven’t spent time with Him in Prayer. What is He supposed to answer? Your Thoughts?
Jesus (our perfect example) spent time with the Father.
Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds. 23 After dismissing the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone– Matthew 14:22-23
Yes, He had a job as well (He was a carpenter before full-time ministry) and He developed a habit of being with God, which allowed Him to succeed in His ministry.
The Lord Jesus developed this habit around His busy schedule. You too can!
No more excuses!
You are loved and highly longed for,
Favour.
