“The rich think their wealth protects them;
they imagine themselves safe behind it” Proverbs 18:11 (MSG)
So recently I found my self thinking, “If only I had wealth or more money I would have done this and that “, and I know I am not alone in this type of thinking especially if you are in your twenties and are just starting life.
In all honesty, money is good and I won’t deny the fact. By the grace of God, I will have loads of it,however, I am convinced that trusting God is better. I don’t have funds to be considered as wealthy or rich at the moment, but, I have seen God do amazing things in my life even with little
I currently live in a country that is considered rich and obviously it’s easy to enjoy the good things of life to the extent of shifting focus from depending on Jesus.
The truth is that although money seems to have power, there is really no power there.
Why?
Because it is not constant. Really nothing is constant in this fallen world, except the love of Jesus. Only Him is constant! He has loved mankind since the four billion years ago that He created the planet. This includes the fact that HE LOVES YOU.
Secondly, trusting Him gives you peace. COMPLETE PEACE! You might have funds to take care of yourself but what’s the point if you have to worry about every single problem that arises for example, health problems like Cancer.
oh and young people are having the disease these days.
In the words of Baruch Spinoza “Peace is not the absence of War, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition of benevolence, confidence and justice”
So yes, we live in a turbulent world and there would always be one form of war or another in your life but like one great king of Israel said…..
King David through the Holy Spirit
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
But we will remember and trust in the name of the Lord our God” Proverbs 20:7
TRUST IN JESUS (aka: Firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of JESUS) .
You are loved,
Favour
