My apologies for this late post . I have had internet issues all week.
So I recently saw a video of a well-respected boxer at thirty, just when he was about to retire and he was asked what he’d would do with his life after boxing and surprisingly he said he’d prepared to meet his god by giving to charity and good works.
Even though he isn’t of the Christian faith,that was striking for me BUT as expected he didn’t mention the LORD JESUS.
You probably know this but I’m going to mention it again that Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE and we cannot get to GOD without Jesus.
“Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. John 14:6 (KJV)
Therefore, it is safe to say that making lots of money and donating to charity would not take you to heaven.

Why?
Because our righteousness and good acts are like filthy rags before God! WE NEED JESUS TO REACH HEAVEN!
But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV)
Of course those are good deeds and someday I also would have lots of money and help eradicate poverty BUT we can only get to heaven through the DOOR.
So who is this door? … THE LORD JESUS IS!
“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture”. John 10:9 (NKJV)

James 1:27 tells us what true Christianity is and how Christians should live, but it’s sad that in contemporary times lots of us engage in these acts because we want to be “blessed” or recognized and it would be really funny if it weren’t so sad.
“Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world” James 1:27 (NKJV)
See, your blessing is not embedded in your giving to the poor (which is actually a very good deed you shouldn’t stop if your motive is right) but your blessing is implanted in the finished work of redemption.
Jesus was poor, He was wounded, and He was despised so that you would not have to go through all of that. For that reason, STOP TRYING TO BUY GOD AND HIS BLESSINGS!
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
“But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed”2 Corinthians 8:9(NKJV)
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich”.
If you are His child because you have accepted Jesus, all you need to do is to ask and He would give you.
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him”! Matthew 7:11 (NKJV)
Definitely, there are certain bible principles that you would have to operate in your life, like “give and it shall be given to you”.
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you”.
Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
But really, you have to rest on His word and His redemptive work and don’t try to buy God. It would not work!
Conclusively,although giving to charities and helping the poor are good acts. However, those deeds would not take you to heaven. Only Jesus can and would if you trust and follow Him.
Remember, life is really short and death is to be expected. The only difference is where you end up after your stay on planet earth.
Jesus loves you immeasurably. YES YOU!
Favour 🙂
