DON’T EVEN TRY

What does the Bible say about walking in the flesh?

In the words of Apostle Paul     “Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” Gal 3:3 (NIV).

I have come to discover that striving to be perfect is nothing but an effort in futility, as we are all work in progress before Christ. In other words, if we wait until we’re perfect on our own, we might as well wait the rest of our lives. Christianity isn’t about living a life of perfection, but about getting back up and following Jesus daily, and the Bible is filled with classical examples of imperfect people that turned out to be some of Christ’s greatest apostles..

So recently, I started trying to be absolutely perfect and live “Holy”. I mean, the lord told Abram before he became Abraham, “walk before me, and be thou perfect” (Gen 17:1b).

So I thought and decided, I want to be the Lady after God’s own heart therefore I am going to be perfect.Of course It seemed cool and interesting at first until reality set in.

Then in my attempts towards self perfection, I fail woefully in my love walk towards a sister or just “mess up” , and this consuming guilt sets in. I lose my joy, happiness, calmness and I feel like I have failed God.

However, just as I walk around in misery and confusion, I get the “aha” moment and I am suddenly reminded by the HOLY GHOST that I cannot be righteous on my own because I AM THE RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:21

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”. (NIV)

The lord Jesus Is perfect so I don’t have to try to be perfect on my own, You don’t have to try to be perfect on your own because HE IS PERFECT and in Him we live, in Him we move and in Him we have our being (Acts 17:28a).

Therefore, we live by faith and rest in Him.

Romans 1:17

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”( KJV)

See, YOU ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS! That’s what you are, that is who you are and you cannot afford to think less than what you are! And it’s all because of JESUS. Believe me when I say the devil is very wicked, he will try to remind you of all your sins if possible but hey, there is good news.

YOUR SINS HAVE BEEN BLOTTED OUT!

Isaiah 43:25
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more”. (NIV)

Yes, they have been blotted out because you have received Jesus.

That’s why you need to stop trying to be perfect on your strength. IT’S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! YOU CAN’T BE PERFECT ON YOUR STRENGTH!

Let’s stop the self righteous acts and look to the founder, pioneer and perfecter of our faith. (Heb 12:2a)

One final thought. If you do not remember anything from this piece, please never forget that YOU ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS! 🙂

Jesus loves you immeasurably 🙂

Don’t even TRY, you will be disappointed, lovely Piece. This will also help us to relate with our fellow imperfect humans, and give them Jesus because it is only Him that tries perfection and never gets disappointed
